We home based in Evora for 4 nights and explored the
Alentejo Region of Portugal.
The Alentejo is the breadbasket of Portugal, makes half its wine
and is the largest producer of cork in the world.
There are many megalithic monuments on the
outskirts of Evora and throughout central Alentejo.
About 2000 years older than Stonehenge.

Located next to the village, this quarry in Estremoz
produces the extraordinary “Branco de Estremoz”
