Jordan River and the Dead Sea, Jordan

Grocery store on the way to the Dead Sea

Crusader fort circa 1181

UNESCO, the Vatican, and a dozen other churches agree that this is the site that John the Baptist baptized Jesus. Over the years the River Jordan has moved a couple hundred yards from this site

The River Jordan and the border with Israel.

Stopped at local’s house for lunch.
Our host made maqluba, an upside down chicken and rice dish

Our final resting spot on the Dead Sea. It was stylized after the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

700-year-old olive tree

Our skin was so smooth after getting mudded up and then slathered with sea salt at the Dead Sea!

Our final sunset in Jordan, from our room

Lights of Israel are in the background
