Founded in 1248, Tallinn Old Town is a UNESCO-listed wonder, surrounded by a sprawling Soviet new town. Separated from Helsinki by only a thin strip of Baltic Sea, Tallinn stands proudly on the south coast of the Gulf of Finland. It is the capital of Estonia, with the deserved nickname "The Silicon Valley of Europe." The historic past and old town is the major draw and although heavy with tourists the town still retains its charm.
We flew from St. Petersburg, Russia to Tallinn and stayed in a great AB&B apartment in a great location within the old walls.
View from apartment.
