Kizhi Island in the midst of Lake Onega is home to one of Russia's iconic sights, the all-wood Church of Transfiguration. The open air museum is on one side of the small island and a very very small village is on the other. The 2k hike to the village from the port is beautiful and worth the time.
Church of Transfiguration was built without a single nail in 1714
