Doha, Qatar

Hoppy liked the camels

Our hotel for three nights was connected to the Old Al Wakrah Souq. Its on the shores of the Persian Gulf

Relaxing few days and shaking off jet lag in Doha, Qatar before heading off to:

Republic of Uzbekistan 🇺🇿
Republic of Tajikistan 🇹🇯
Republic of Türkiye 🇹🇷
Hellenic Republic of Greece🇬🇷

Fresh Juice

Glass

Shops near the Katara Cultural Village

Crescent tower, built for the World Cup in 2022

National Museum of Doha, architecture inspired by the desert rose crystal

Part of Hotel complex

Fresh lemon-mint juice, “foul ghee” ðŸ˜€ (we assumed “buttered chicken” was safe to order our first nightbut it did not appear to have any chicken). The rashoosh bread was HUGE and amazing. During Ramadan all restaurants are closed during the day so we fasted along with everyone else!
The falcon is the national bird of Qatar, they are very expensive, costing between $10,000USD up to $275,000. Hoppy did not appreciate the falcon’s curiosity
Yep, a hospital just for falcons! A small museum is inside, and there were several people in the lobby waiting for their falcons to be looked after

Museum of Islamic Art, designed by I.M. Pei, his inspiration was the Al-batulah, the traditional face covering worn by Qatari women (note the eye slits on the top of the structure)

Hoppy liked welcoming the people

Parts of Doha city were quite Disney-esque
