Son Kul Lake & Issyk Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan

Drove into the mountains to stay in two separate yurt camps on two different lakes. Stopping to hike for a view of a red rock canyon, saw an eagle hunting demonstration, and visited a yurt manufacturer

Arrived at Nomads Dream yurt camp on Son Kol Lake, located at 9895 ft. above sea level. This alpine lake is considered a sacred place to many Kyrgyz people

Hoppy can’t wait to see inside his first yurt.

Yurt Life. Four beds for two people, a person started the stove for heat while we ate dinner. They came back after we were asleep to stoke it again. Shared bathrooms, oh boy

Passing through the Kalmak Ashu mountain pass at 11200 feet on the way to first camp.
